SNORKELING TRIPS

Dear guests, welcome to the information page about Diverland Summer Island snorkeling trips. All year round we offer Turtle Snorkeling trips and Night Snorkeling tours with high chances to see sharks & stingrays. NOW is the season to see Manta Rays around the island. Do not miss the trips to see these majestic animals! Our spercial snorkeling trips are not daily. You can check our daily program to see when you can join the next trip.

TURTLE SNORKELING

On the Turtle Snorkeling trips we visit the reef, where turtles find their favorite food and we can see them in their natural habitat. Depending on the weather conditions and requests we receive we offer Turtle Snorkeling every 3-4 days. Countless colorful fish swim among beautiful corals: sweetlips, fusiliers, groupers, rays, reef sharks and from time to time a pod of dolphins will welcome us to the reef. As for the chance to see a beautiful sea turtle, it is nearly a guarantee!

You are welcome to sign up at the diving center once we announce the trip on our program.

NIGHT SNORKELING

Discover the marvelous nightlife of the Indian Ocean with a Diverland Snorkeling Guide.

After a short introduction, you will explore some of the most beautiful places for night snorkeling around Summer Island with an underwater torch. Encounter majestic lionfish, elusive lobsters, squid and octopus, elegant stingrays and much more. A unique experience you should not miss!

We offer the tour upon request. A minimum of two participants and good in-water conditions are necessary for this tour. Please, let us know if you would like to join us for night snorkeling.

MANTA RAY WATCHING TRIP

We offer Manta ray Watching trips every year between December and April. Since every season manta ray locations are different, we cannot provide any information about the trip duration and price until they are back in the area.

 

The highlights of this trip are the cleaning stations located 4-7m on the top of the reef. Thousands of little cleaner wrasses live here and do their job, while the northeast monsoon pushes plankton rich water attracting Mantas to the Hithi Channel for a feast. At the cleaning stations, these enormous yet majestic creatures will swim by with their mouths wide open, filtering water and letting themselves be cleaned. There can be no better place to watch these animals.

 


Snorkeling with sharks at Summer Island is very simple. You don't need a guide or a boat trip. Go snorkeling any time at your convenience in the waters around Summer Island. Remember, that you are SAFE from any marine animals, as long as you don't TOUCH ANYTHING, don't FEED ANYTHING & don't STAND ON THE REEF.

 

We have a healthy population of black-tip reef sharks here. Every afternoon around 16:00 - 17:00 black-tip reef sharks are patrolling the area straight in front of the jetty.

You can also do a Try Dive with us even if you've never tried diving. There are very high chances to see sharks & stingrays during this program.

The price of the Turtle Snorkeling is 60 USD per person (not incl. fins, mask & snorkel) and Night Snorkeling is 60 USD incl. the UW torch (not incl. fins, mask & snorkel). Try dive costs 155 USD incl. everything you might need for the program.
